Ellie & Gray With Baby Ayla

Arielle Balyeat & Kyle Douglass | Owners, Ellie + Gray

Hello! We are Arielle and Kyle. Wife and husband, best friends, and now, business partners. We launched Ellie & Gray in August 2018, two months after our daughter, Ayla Gray, arrived.

Arielle graduated from Indiana University with her bachelor's degree in Public Affairs. After earning her degree she moved to Denver, Colorado and worked as a paralegal. Arielle returned to school a few years later, earning a JD from the University of Colorado Law School. Since graduating Arielle has worked as an attorney for the Colorado State Public Defender's Office (she did take a short hiatus, more on that below). A few of Arielle's favorite things, being a mama, the outdoors, and iced coffee. Having a little girl started Arielle's passion of making bows and brought back her love for sewing.

Kyle grew up in Colorado. He owned and operated an automotive business before selling it to return to school. He is currently working towards a degree in Computer Aided Drafting. Kyle loves the Rocky Mountains, spending time with family, and a good, craft beer.

Together we enjoy hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking, camping, and paddle boarding. It was our love of adventure that inspired us to trade in our house for a converted Sprinter van in August 2017. We spent six months on the road before returning to Denver in preparation for our sweet little surprise! We hope our babe loves the outdoors as much as we do and wanted to create a bow for her adventures.

Ellie + Gray is a family business. Arielle handcrafts each and every bow sold. Kyle helps with sales and packaging and our two pups, Zoe and Koda, handle our day-to-day operations.

Prior to launching Ellie & Gray we spent countless hours creating the patterns for our unique bow styles and selecting the perfect fabrics. It's our mission to make high-quality and affordable products for families like ours.

Thanks for stopping by and supporting our small business. Happy Adventuring!
